Todd Gilliland took a verbal shot at team owner Kyle Busch in the moments after Gillilandâs first career NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series win on Saturday at Martinsville Speedway. Gilliland yelled over the team radio that Busch could âstay in his (expletive) motor home.â
When asked about the comments afterward, Gilliland said, âIt was just kind of heat of the moment really. Everyone has heard what he said. Itâs true, we should have been running better. I probably wish I didnât say it now. It is what it is. He said some stuff about me.â
He later tweeted:
Like Iâve said before we should have won by now and it just hasnât happened. I want to apologize to @KyleBusch for what I said after the race. My emotions got the best of me obviously and a lot went through my head as I took the checkered. Two more wins to chaseđ

Gillilandâs apparent frustration likely stemmed from comments earlier in the season when Busch called out Gilliland and teammate Harrison Burton, saying that if they couldnât get the job done in Kyle Busch Motorsports equipment, that there wouldnât be much left for them.
An attempt to reach Kyle Busch for comment was unsuccessful.
