Marshawn Lynch doesnât seem to miss the NFL much. Or maybe itâs the Raiders he doesnât miss?
Either way, the former Oakland Tech, Cal and Raiders standout found himself at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway last Sunday. Not only that, Lynch was being interviewed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. shortly before drivers introductions at the South Point 400. And not only that, Lynch was to drive the pace car for the NASCAR event.
âI hear this is a bucket list item for you?â Earnhardt said.
âThatâs the truth,â Lynch said.
âNervous?â Earnhardt said.
âNo,â Lynch said. âThe only thing thatâs wrong with it, I think, I only get to go 45 mph. I was expecting, they call it pedal to the metal and really drive this thing.â
âMaybe after the race is over with theyâll let you take a few laps. Weâll go around here as fast as you want.â
âIâm with that,â Lynch said, clearly excited. âThey told me they can get up to 180 (mph). I did 180 before but Iâm not going to say where, but I know what that feels like.â
[Editorâs aside: It probably wasnât in an equipment cart.]
Earnhardt asked what other bucket items Lynch might pursue. âWhat it really comes down to is, Iâm just trying to do (expletive) I ainât done before. This is by far probably one of the most exciting things that was on my list. Maybe WWF. Thatâs one thing I wanted to do.â
[Editorâs aside: Lynch realizes that WWF competitors are expected to grant interviews, right?]
âYouâd do all right in there,â Earnhardt said.
âAfter this, right?â Lynch said. He then made an interesting request. âI want you all to call me whenever yâall see me behind the wheel, âDale Shinehardt Jr.’â
[Editorâs aside: Umm⊠I got nothing.]
