The Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway Sunday for the Hollywood Casino 400 at 2:30 p.m. ET. Here, we break down the NASCAR odds and lines, with auto racing betting picks and tips.
Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kevin Harvick (+450) has picked up three checkered flags at Kansas, including as a member of SHR in his Ford back in the spring of 2018.
Harvick has made 27 Cup starts at Kansas, leading all drivers with a 9.8 Average-Finish Position with the three wins, eight top-5 showings and 14 top-10 finishes while leading all drivers with 855 laps, too.
Harvick has been on the pole five times at Kansas, while ending up with just one DNF. The next best SHR driver is Kansas native Clint Bowyer (+2500), who has a 16.1 AFP in 22 Kansas runs.
Penske Racing’s Brad Keselowski (+1000) won the spring race, giving Ford two wins in the past three Kansas starts. In 19 career Cup starts at Kansas, Keselowski has managed two wins, four top-5 finishes and 10 top-10 runs with 215 laps led and a 12.2 AFP. Teammate Joey Logano (+1000) also has two wins at Kansas, so don’t forget about him.
NASCAR’s Loop Data shows Kyle Busch (+550) second among all drivers with a 110.5 Driver Rating across the past five Kansas starts, so he obviously shouldn’t be discounted. He has run 94.3 percent of his laps inside the Top 15 during the five-race span. In 23 Cup starts, Busch has just one checkered flag at Kansas, but he has a solid 16.9 AFP with 10 of his 23 starts resulting in a top-10 run.
Looking at a little longer odds, Penske’s Ryan Blaney (+2000) is coming off a checkered flag last week at Talladega, so momentum is on his side. Loop Data shows him fourth among all drivers in the past five Kansas starts with a 102.6 Driver Rating and 79.9 percent of his laps turned inside the Top 15. Hendrick’s Alex Bowman (+2000) ranks eighth over his past three starts at Kansas with a Driver Rating of 95.6, posting an AFP of 9.7.
The best long shot might be Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+6500), who has a respectable 17.9 AFP in 13 Cup starts, with nine of his Kansas runs 20th or better. He could be one of the non-Chase drivers to make a little noise.
