This weekâs NASCAR fantasy picks for the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead, Miami.
The final race of the 2019 NASCAR season is on Sunday. Everything comes to a close at Homestead when one of the four remaining drivers will receive the 2019 Championship cup. The drivers who remain are:
Last year, it was the Big 3 + Joey Logano. This year, itâs the Big 3 + Denny Hamlin. Will Denny pull off the upset that Logano pulled off last year? Will one of the Big 3 add another cup to their collection?Â
The final four is filled with hard-driving, chance-taking, intense drivers who all have a shot at becoming one of the elite. Whoever has the best finish takes it all in a rush of excited victory and a long night of alcohol-fueled celebration. But when the excitement dies down, weâll be talking about Daytona once again.Â
I hope to see you all again in February. Enjoy the offseason.
Last Weekâs NASCAR Fantasy Picks: Recap from the Bluegreen Vacations 500 at ISM Raceway
Here are this weekâs Brilliant, Bold, and Bonkers NASCAR Fantasy picks for the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead, Miami.Â
In 2017, he finished in first place to win his first Championship. In 2018, he finished second. Truex has been laying low since he locked himself into the round of four, but heâll be back to fighting form on Sunday. Truex has what it takes to grab his second championship, and this is why heâs my #1 pick.
Hamlin runs well in Florida, with two wins at Homestead and two at Daytona. He has a long road ahead of him if he plans to beat the other three drivers, but heâs coming off of a winning weekend high. Denny is the only one who doesnât have a championship yet, and you can bet heâs going to lock-in for a shot at the title on Sunday. Heâs my #2 choice.
See those numbers? Harvick always finishes well at Homestead. His season has been good, but it was rather lackluster compared to last season. Harvick will be battling three JGR team members to get to the front of the class, and this is the reason heâs my #3 pick at Homestead. But I donât ever rule out the Hapster from pulling off a victory.Â
Kyle has finished well at Homestead in the last several yearsâtypically inside the top 10. This has been a mixed season for the No. 18 team, however, and itâs tough for me to see him winning another Championship at this time. Heâs a bold pick, which means Iâm not ruling him out because, well, heâs Kyle âRowdyâ Busch, after all. But heâs my 4th choice for the championship.
Larson missed the final four last week at Phoenix, but he raced well and heâs been racing well for several weeks. If any driver outside of the top four has a shot at the win, itâs Larson. Itâs not over for the 42 until itâs over. Expect him to fight to the end.
It was heartbreak station last week when Elliot wrecked at Phoenix, ending his bid for the final four. But the No. 9 would love to bounce back with a final win this season, and heâs got a good chance to do it on Sunday.
Not gonna happen. Letâs hope that the 48 team finds themselves in the offseason and this 7-time champ gets another win sometime in 2020.
Despite his impressive finishes in recent weeks, Blaney has never finished better than 17th at Homestead. Enough said.Â
Each season Suarez has gotten slightly better. Letâs hope for good things from this guy in 2020. But donât put in much hope for Homestead.Â
