Richard Childress Racing continues itsâ tradition of developing young talent with the addition of Myatt Snider.
Fresh off of a successful season in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Elite 2 Division, Snider will run a limited schedule for the defending NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship team. The 24-year-old finished fifth in the Euro Series final points standings with four top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. Sniderâs best finish in Europe was second, twice.
âI am thrilled to be driving for Richard Childress Racing in 2020,â Snider explained. âItâs an honor to drive for a team with such a rich history in the sport, and Iâm excited to start learning from everyone. After a great season of racing in Europe this past year, Iâm excited to be back home and moving up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series.â
The Charlotte, N.C. native will have support from long-time sponsor TaxSlayer. The company sponsored Snider in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series at Martinsville Speedway as well as in the CARS Tour Late Model Stock division.
âIâm also happy TaxSlayer has returned for another year to support my racing career,â Snider continued. âIâm honored to be a part of bringing them back to the Xfinity Series. TaxSlayer has been a loyal partner of mine, and I canât wait to see what we can build together moving forward.Â
âI know the season just ended, but 2020 is shaping up to be an excellent year. Iâm just ready for Daytona to get here as soon as possible!â
âWeâre proud to join the Richard Childress Racing family of corporate partners and align ourselves with a driver as talented and accomplished as Myatt Snider,â said TaxSlayer President and CEO Brian Rhodes.Â
âRCR and Snider are helping us share the TaxSlayer story with race fans so more people can file their taxes quickly and affordably. We couldnât be more excited to see them through to the finish line.â
The son of NASCAR on NBC reporter Marty Snider, Myatt has 35 starts in the Truck Series. He has four top-five and 13 top-10 finishes with a best finish of second at Talladega Superspeedway in 2018.
In 2019, RCR fielded two cars in the Xfinity Series full time, one for champion Tyler Reddick, the other split between Kaz Grala and Joe Graf, Jr. In 41 combined starts, the organization earned six victories (with Reddick), 25 top-five, and 28 top-10 finishes.Â
âWeâre proud to be joining forces with Myatt and TaxSlayer during the 2020 season,â said Richard Childress, chairman and CEO of Richard Childress Racing.Â
âBoth Myatt and TaxSlayer are family-focused, with Myattâs family being involved in racing and TaxSlayer being a family-owned tax and financial technology company. Those values fit perfectly with ours, and I think will help guide all of us to on and off-track success next season.â
Snider will debut with RCR in the Xfinity Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway in February. Car number as well as an exact number of races will be announced at a later date.
