As the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season approaches, Kickinâ the Tires takes a look at Ty Dillon, driver of the No. 13 Chevrolet for Germain Racing.
Dillon is entering his seventh year overall competing at NASCARâs highest level but his fourth running the full schedule.
In 2019, he earned one top-five, three top-10 and 16 top-20 finishes.
Dillonâs best finish of the season was a fourth place result in Julyâs Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.
Furthermore, heâs made consistent improvements upon his 2018 campaign taking his average start from 27.2 to 23.5 and his average finish from 24.1 to 20.6.
He is still seeking his first win in the NASCAR Cup Series and while he remains winless with 126 starts heading into the season opener next month, look for him to really contend at the superspeedways.
In eight NCS starts at the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway, Dillon has tallied up one top-five and three top-10 finishes.
In his last three races at the famed superspeedway heâs gone on to finish sixth, sixth and fourth.
Additionally, he has also seen very solid finishes at Talladega Superspeedway in his Cup career as well. In six starts, Dillon has one top-10 but has never finished worse than 17th in any Cup Series event at the track.
